An amazing place to stay, perfect for our family!!!

The House was perfect for our stay. Our stay was amazing and i plan on returning to the house as soon as we can. The location of the house was perfect and being able to watch the ocean from the screened in porch is perfect. The bedrooms were very nice and comfortable. The only issue we had, and it wasn't even related to the house or owners, was the mosquitoes!! They were so bad and we were not prepared for that. They literally swarmed our car so be prepared for that. There is an overgrown area beside the house that could be some of the issue. But like i said before, this had nothing to do with the house. Overall i can't wait to stay here again.

The sunsets every night from our porch were so beautiful. The house fit us perfectly, we have 4 children and they liked having their own space. We watched dolphins swim every morning while we drank our coffee and we couldn’t have been happier.

We loved our time at the house- it’s beautiful and very well appointed. Beds are comfortable, washing machine is new, and there were plenty of sheets, towels, and blankets! The screened in porch is the highlight of the house and we ate almost every meal out there. Beach toys under the house as well as chairs to enjoy the view while kids play outside/under house when it rains! Kitchen is huge with tons of storage. If you are a big cook, bring your favorite items, but otherwise it is very well appointed. We left a few kitchen items for next guests to enjoy, as well as laundry detergent and paper products- we found some that others had left before us. Harbor island is a wonderful and quiet place for families who don’t want to hustle and bustle of more popular beaches!

This is by far the best beach property I have ever stayed in! The house was absolutely perfect, with plenty of room for our family to relax. The beach is literally steps from the back door, and not crowded at all. It’s like having your own private island!

We stayed at Harbor Island in mid June and absolutely loved the island!! The beach was amazing, never over crowded and always quiet. Dolphin were there everyday and a joy to watch after a day at the beach. The beach is right out the back door, which is great if you have kids. Makes meal times easy. The pool was clean never to busy, always chairs available.

The neighbors we meant were wonderful friendly couple. Both Donna and Karl were more than helpful with any questions we had. Always answer right away.

We are hoping to get back again.

My family stayed in June. Our kiddos 11, 8, and 6 had the time of their lives here. Plenty on sand toys and boogie boards down under the home. The location of this home is perfect. The views are amazing. Dolphins swam outfront of the property every single day, multiple times a day. The property managers were able to be contacted and solved a minor door lock issue rather quickly, almost immediately. We will stay again. When down on the beach it was like we had the whole thing to our selves. People gathered at both sides but quite far away. Also kudos to the neighbors for being so friendly.
Cons: In the master bedroom there are no screens on either window or the balcony door. The best part about being right on the ocean is hearing the waves at night. Unfortunately that wasn't able due to not having screens. The balcony door does lead to the screened in porch, but we seen many bugs on the screened in porch. I don't want them creeping around the room while I'm sleeping. Also a golf cart would be a great addition for renters to utilize while staying.
Overall we were satisfied with our stay and will return again! I believe we have found our new vacation spot.

Beautifully set-up and prepared. I recommend this home for anyone seeking a period of peace and contentment. The owners bent over backwards to be available if needed (they were not!). Our fourth year here. Hope to come back next year!

Idyllic Lowcountry Family Beach Vacation

by Ellen O'Rourke

This was our first visit to the Lowcountry area of South Carolina and we fell in love with its beauty, serenity and wildlife. We had a peaceful vacation in this beautiful house. Views are wonderful from the two porches and the beach is right outside and not far. The first-level screened in porch was our favorite place. We sat on it with our morning coffee, spent time reading and watching dolphins swim by. We all made use of the porch day bed, sometimes falling asleep on it at night while listening to the ocean. The beach is not crowded and offers plenty of walking, fishing and kayaking opportunities. The mosquitoes were intense the first night we arrived, but with a little bug spray and some ocean breezes to scare them away we were able to deal with them. The kitchen is well equipped with more than we could ask for, and appliances are newer and in good working order. There was a problem with the microwave, but response was quick when we reported the issue. We slept six comfortably. Our teenagers liked the pool available at the racquet club and made use of that when they needed a break from the salt water. We loved visiting Beaufort and Savannah, which are short drives away. There is plenty of fresh seafood available near to the house and a couple of quaint restaurant/pubs offering different views of the Lowcountry. Hoping to return in the near future.

Very quiet here. Right on the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The pictures are a very accurate reflection of what you can expect – very charming, spacious, and right along the water. We were very pleased when we arrived and took a look at the space. A lot of our time was spent sitting on the porch (screened in) and listening to the waves rolling in as it’s so near the beach. It is a bit of a drive to town but we appreciated that we were off the beaten track and it proved to be a relaxing getaway. We would certainly stay here again.

We had such a relaxing vacation. The high points were riding our bikes up and down the beach, taking pictures of birds in the three huge rookeries on the island, and visiting Hunting Island.

Very comfortable and clean.
