This updated ocean view home comes complete with a golf cart, propane gas grill, beach towels, use of the neighborhood pool and a great ocean view! You will fall in love with the panoramic ocean view seen across acres of beautiful tidal marsh from this updated home.

Tucked into a cul-de-sac in the neighborhood of Nautical Watch, this home is less than a minute's walk to the Nautical Watch pool--available only to Nautical Watch owners and guests, and a quick 3 minute golf cart ride to the Beach and Racquet Club. This home is light, bright, and beachy….offering all of the comforts of home with a spectacular ocean view. 31 Nautical Watch has abundant natural light, with sliding glass doors in the living area, the master bedroom and one guest bedroom, and large windows in the dining area, kitchen, and second guest bedroom.

Entering the home, you can see straight through the living area to the marsh and ocean beyond. A dining area comfortably seating six is to your right, with a pass through to the galley style kitchen with plenty of storage room in the pantry for your groceries.

Kick back in the living area where ample seating includes a comfortable sofa, a pair of ""stress less"" recliners with ottomans, an armchair with ottoman, and a rocking chair. (Please note the fireplace seen in the photos is decorative only, it is not a working fireplace.) There is a flat screen cable television and a DVD player in the living area, but we promise it is going to be hard to take your eyes off the view!
The living area opens onto a large deck stretching across the marsh/ocean view side of the home, with a table and chairs, and an umbrella to keep you comfortable. You can watch the tides ebb and flow through the tidal marsh where herons, egrets, ibis and wood storks often pause to catch their dinners.

Beyond the marsh you can see the Atlantic Ocean and across Johnsons Creek to the maritime forests of neighboring Hunting Island State Park. The large master bedroom features a king sized bed, 26"" flat screen television, and a full, private attached bath boasting a beautifully renovated (2022) walk in shower! A sliding glass door in the master conveniently opens onto the ocean view deck. What a way to start your day!
On the opposite side of the living area is a short hallway accessing the guest bedrooms, second full bath (also renovated as of 2022), and laundry closet with full sized washer and dryer. One guest bedroom has a queen bed, plenty of drawer and closet space, flat screen cable television, and also offers private access to the bath. This bedroom, like the master, opens onto the back ocean view deck by way of sliding glass doors. The second guest bedroom is at the front of the home and is great for children, with flatscreen television and both a single daybed and a double bed that could sleep two.

Harbor Island is gated beach community on a small barrier island, 14 miles southeast of charming, historic Beaufort SC. The island is bordered by the Harbor River on the north, Saint Helena Sound and the Atlantic to the east, and Johnsons creek to the south. Harbor is very much a get away from it all location, with nothing commercial inside of our gates. Also at the BRC you will enjoy use of the Olympic sized pool overlooking the marshes of the Harbor River, a small kiddie wading pool, a playground, sand volleyball court, tennis courts and a well-equipped fitness center.
Nearby Beaufort offers plenty of options for off-island enjoyment. Downtown Beaufort offers fun boutique shopping, horse and carriage rides through the historic district filled with beautiful antebellum homes, and a gorgeous waterfront public park stretching along the Beaufort River where you can watch boats passing by or docking in the marina.

Dolphin watch and other day cruise boats leave from the marina and offer great opportunities to see the lovely lowcountry scenery from the water. There are many dining options from fine dining to fast food, and fresh caught local seafood is a favorite both at restaurants and seafood markets.

Depending on the time of year, you may want to try your hand at catching your own shrimp, crab or fish. Hunting Island has a wonderful fishing pier, and fishing off of the beach and in the creeks is permissible. For information about SC fishing regulations and licensing, visitors are advised to visit the website for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

If you are interested in exploring farther afield, historic Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, SC are easy day trips. Savannah is a little over an hour away, Charleston about two hours. And the Hilton Head/Bluffton area, with outlet shops galore, is about an hour away.

Harbor Island Paradise

The home we stayed in was everything as advertised. Very nice inside and out. The one thing I would suggest that would really make the experience over the top would be to make sure the golf cart has working lights for riding around at night. When sun set, we had to always return to the house because it was illegal to ride around without working lights.

Overall though, it was a great experience and we would certainly stay there again without hesitation.

All the excellent reviews are true. This was our second visit to this beautiful beach house; we love this place and Harbor Island so much. The house is spacious, attractively decorated, extraordinarily comfortable and supplied with everything you need. A unique attribute is the collection of original artwork by Alice Feagan. A huge plus for us is the exceptionally well-equipped kitchen. The stunning views of marsh, sea and sky change continuously – a much better show than anything on TV and you can watch the sunrise from bed. Just looking out the panoramic windows provides endless enjoyment, but our favorite daily activities were walking the Harbor Island beach, watching the birds and exploring nearby Hunting Island State Park. Charming Beaufort, 20 minutes’ drive across rural St. Helena Island, is loaded with history, art galleries, fun shops and a variety of restaurants. The gated community of Harbor Island is sparsely populated in winter, but everyone we met was welcoming. We feel very lucky to have discovered this magical place.

Pleasing home, beautiful views, well equipped kitchen.

We enjoyed our stay, the view was lovely out over the marsh, so active with wildlife. The house decor was lovely, pleasing watercolors and local crafts tastefully arranged, all enhanced the home. The kitchen was meant for real cooks, everything we needed was there, we were able to prepare easily and efficiently. The beds were comfy, the handmade quilts a pleasing plus. The living room furniture was inviting for everyone, the home is well thought out and easy for all five of us. My daughter had fun driving the golf cart to the near by beach, we all enjoyed riding our bikes to Hunting Island park (3 miles) lots of walking trails and interest. The tidal flats were amazing and we appreciated the tide clock to help us track low tide adventures. Nearby Beaufort was wonderful, historic homes, the Spanish Moss Trail, interesting upscale shops, and outdoor dining on the waterfront, We had a great time. Sunny and warm for December holidays.

We absolutely loved our vacation here. The home was very bright, clean, and cheerful as pictures showed. Kitchen had all the needed amenities as we prefer to cook at home. There was also plenty of beach towels and other beachy things. The golf cart was a great way to take drives around the island or a short commute to one of the several beach accesses. The island feels very safe. Was also very quiet. People were friendly as well. The pool is literally right across from this address which my young son was fond of. Also loved seeing the fishing boats out on the water everyday. We also visited Hunting Island State Park and loved it. It’s only a few miles from Harbor Island. Highly recommend this home if you’re in for a beautiful quiet vacation spot.

We arrived on the island on a Saturday. The guards greeted us and took the time to explain the island and give directions. We arrived at the home and we were just thrilled. It is so pretty on the outside. The owner keeps his SUV there so dont be alarmed when you see it. We opened the door and we just so happy. You really feel like you walk into a cozy hug. This home has literally everything you would ever need. Ample supply of towels, beach towels, sheets, pillows..etc. Everytype of culinary cookware is available. The home is filled with sweet family pictures, not too many that you feel intrusive...but just enough to remind you this is someone's home and a lot of love and fun times have been shared here. There are games underneath the TV, small library of books. There were a few spices left over from other guests. Plenty of dinnerware and utensils. The view is stunning. The pictures are extremely accurate. We brought 2 fans with us, for crosswinds to keep the bugs away. We never had any issues with the bugs while out on the porch. The small pool is very very close to the home. We actually never used it. The large Olympic size pool, we never got to use. They do not allow swimmies in the pool and our 18th month old isn't potty trained. There is ice available to buy at the pool house. Average/slightly above price for ice. Not too bad though. Right outside the community to the left is a great fresh seafood mart. The owner there is super nice. We bought jumbo shrimp and huge scallops! We tried the Gay company but they didnt have their jumbo shrimp in yet. We utilized the golf cart daily. We went crabbing all week, unfortunately our trap was too big. We only caught 1 legal size blue crab, and we split it among 5 people. We saw plenty of alligators. The wildlife is beautiful in the marsh. We would just sit out back and count the variety of birds we saw. We did see one alligator in there. We toured the community and at the end is a "point" which is the harbor river. Great fishing spot, my husband caught a baby hammer head. Most of the Fishers there said they were catching a lot of shark. My poor 3 year old got stung by a jelly fish while sitting in the water. There are numerous beach accesses, I recommend going to the endish, the walk to the beach is way shorter. There is one near the house but I swear you walk on the boardwalk forever. I do miss the house and so does my 3 year old. Simply amazing!

This is our second time visiting Harbor Island in 10 years. It's still our favorite vacation spot and hopefully our retirement spot! The house was very comfortable and the entire family loved staying there!

We loved everything about this place. The view is glorious, the house is attractively furnished, super-comfortable and extraordinarily well-equipped, and Harbor Island is delightful. As winter visitors, we appreciated the quiet, almost deserted location. Would we rent this magical cottage again? In a heartbeat!

What a great house for a family vacation! This house has everything for a complete vacation. When you enter the view is what you notice first. Then you realize that the furniture and decor are perfect for a beach house. There is the most complete kitchen of any place we have rented. Used the gas grill multiple times for seafood from Gay Shrimp Co. The golf cart was a plus from going to the beach and touring the island. The community pool is just a house away. Not a better place to stay on Harbor Island.
